We will be after any one of the following, depending on the month and where the bait and cold water sit that week.
Our main target right now. Calm water, lighter tackle and excellent eating fish — the go-to option for families and kids.
The heavyweight of Lake Michigan. Muskegon kings commonly run 12–25 pounds and are the reason most anglers book a charter here. We troll spoons and flasher-flies down deep as the water warms.
Fast, acrobatic and usually the first strong bite of the season. Cohos school up in the warmer top water in spring, which makes for non-stop action on light gear.
The best jumper in the lake. Steelhead hold along temperature breaks offshore and will empty a reel before they ever come to the net.
An early-season near-shore favorite. Browns hug the shoreline and the pier heads in cold water, so these trips run short and close to the harbor.
Dependable, hard-pulling and always near bottom. Lakers fill out the box on days when the salmon bite is slow and are a great target for new anglers.
